Rich Pan Gravy
Ingredients:
- Pan
drippings from Roast Turkey
- Melted margarine or butter
- ½ cup all purpose flour
- giblet broth (see below)
- ½ cup non-dairy liquid creamer
- 2 Tablespoons dry sherry (optional)
Instructions:
Pour
pan drippings into large measuring cup. Skim and reserve fat from
drippings. Measure fat, adding melted margarine if necessary to make ½
cup. Add reserved giblet broth to the skimmed drippings to measure 2 ½
cups total; set aside. Pout the ½cup of fat into a medium saucepan
(discard any remaining fat). Stir in flour, 1/8 tsp. pepper. Cook and
stir over medium heat for 2 minutes. Gradually whisk giblet broth
mixture into flour mixture. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly.
Add non-dairy creamer. Cook and stir 1 minute more. Add sherry if
desired. Garnish with fresh herbs.
