Living well with kidney disease

 

Pear Chutney

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe Bartlett pears, chopped
  • ¼ tsp. Cloves
  • 2 tsp. brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 2 medium cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 3 Tbsp. Water
  • 1 tsp. slivered almonds
  • 2 tsp. raisins
  • 2 Tbsp. Vinegar

Instructions:

In a pot, bring all ingredients except vinegar to a boil. Reduce heat, cover pot & simmer until pears are tender. Add vinegar & simmer for 5 minutes. Chutney can be prepared ahead of time and stored, covered in the refrigerator.
